The CLS encourages and supports the innovative use of technology to enhance language learning through Instructional Innovation Grants for faculty, professional development workshops, and technology training.

The CLS is also developing a set of authoring templates with which faculty can create web-based foreign language instructional materials.

Examples of some of the materials created using the templates include:

  • Ikones (video-based instructional materials in Modern Greek, created using the Vision template)

  • Daneojang: Vocabulary Flashcards (instructional materials for heritage learners of Korean, created with the Picture Dictionary template)
Another example of innovated web-based course materials is Bunpoumon: Elementary Japanese Online.


   

The CLS offers non-linear digital video editing equipment and support for faculty and students.
